形態特徵

• Rhizome short creeping, rather thick. Culms crowded in row along rhizome,10-120 cm by 2-7 mm, terete.
• Leaf sheaths open, apex obliquely truncate. Involucral bracts subulate, terete, 2-6 cm long.
• Inflorescence comprising 1 spike. Spike elliptic or oblong, terete, 10-35 by 3-7 mm, green to chestnut brown. spicoid bracts oval, 3-7 by 3-6 mm, apex rounded. Spicoids equal to spicoid bracts. Floral bracts to 15, lowest 2 linear-lanceolate, 4-6 mm long, keel ciliate.
• Achenes ovate or obovate to broadly obovate, 3-4 by 2-2.8 mm, brown, smooth to indistinctly longitudinally nerved, often spinulose at apex.

分布

• 台灣 : introduced and cultivated for matting in early times.
• 世界 : Madagascar, India, Sri Lanka, China, southeastern Asia, Australia and the Pacific island.
